I'm 59 years old. I've been keeping a diary since I was 15 years old! These notebooks hold my everyday life, dreams, hopes, plans and sketches.
I'm not a good writer. They won't publish and use my diary as a testament to my life. At least I hope not!
I can't imagine starting my day without a good cup of coffee and writing in my diary.
A lot of what I write is about ART. I pulled this big stack of note books out of my closet today. I looked through a few of them and the year 2017 JUMPED OUT AT ME! It was filled with sketches and dreams of teaching art, participating in art shows and creating art. Would you like to take a peek inside? Check out the thumbnails below. I used a picture of Lady GaGa as a reference for several of the sketches. Even though none of them actually look like her they were inspired by her beautiful essence. I wrote about the eclipse and rough ideas for an art class. I've been wanting to teach online art classes for a long time!
I also like to use my diary pages and sketches in paintings. This one is called "Fear No Water". I have this love hate relationship with water. I love it. But only if I can see the bottom. Dark deep water scares me but I am happy as a goldfish in my swimming pool. Mermaids have always fascinated me. I used a sketch I did in one of my diaries as a collage element in the painting. You can see it in the upper left.
